Now a comfortable family-run hotel, this elegant Georgian manor house enjoys uninterrupted views across York’s famous racecourse and still retains many beautiful original features.
Once the home of the Rowntree family, the hotel was originally built in 1833. The main building still retains many period features and it is easy to imagine this beautiful building in all of its historic splendour. Now one of the few remaining privately owned and family-run hotels in York, The Knavesmire Manor Hotel takes pride in offering a friendly, personal service to all guests.
In the immaculately kept gardens, the hotel’s tropical conservatory houses an indoor heated swimming pool and spa bath. The hotel’s other facilities include a fully licensed bar, a drawing room and the hotel’s popular on-site restaurant. There is a car park to the rear of the main building, with ample free parking available for guests use.
Just a mile from York city centre, the hotel is located on Tadcaster Road, York's Royal Approach. The hotel enjoys uninterrupted views across the wide-open spaces of York Knavesmire to York Racecourse, which hosted Royal Ascot in 2005. The good location makes the Knavesmire Manor Hotel a great base from which to explore the historic city of York and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
